Dimensions: 3rd and 4th

That was little more complicated but still easy enough to understand. Now the 3rd dimension. This is obviously the easiest for us to imagine because that is the dimension we live in. So we all know what the 3rd dimension looks like, just like looking at a person or object in our every day lives. You can see length, width and depth.

It was hard to find an image for this, but this kind of explains
what you would see if you were too look back or forward.
Now it get a bit more complicated again. The 4th dimension. There are a of theories to the 4th dimension but I'm going to go with the aspect we see is duration. Imagine being able to see your self 1 minute a go there would be a long line of movements leading from 1 minute ago to you at the present moment. If we could see the 4th dimension we wouldn't just see 1 minute ago, you would see all the way back to your embryonic self(literally the second your life began) and you would see all the way forward to your deceased self(when you're dead).

I will be continuing with more dimensions very soon...

Dimensions: 1st and 2nd

Okay, I'm going to try and explain this as best I can. From everything I have read and watched I will try to make it as simple as possible.

Lets start with the 1st dimention. This is a very easy one to imagine. This is just a point, it has no sides or dimension, it is just an imaginary idea that represents a position in a system. Then a second point can be used to indicate another position. Now if we join these two points it becomes a line and this is how we create the 1st dimension, there is only length, no width or depth. Still following me so far?

The image on the line you would not be able to see, it
is for imaginary purposes only.

Okay so that was easy. Now the 2nd dimension. In the 2nd dimension there is only length and width but no depth. If we were to live in the 2nd dimension, when we view a person or object we would only see one side, if the person or object was to turn the side we see by 90 degrees it would be impossible to see, it would still be there but because there is no depth it would like nothing is there. (Imagine a playing card rotating)

Panoramic Camera Ball

This invention could be perfect for the photographer readers. This device contains 36 two-megapixel mobile phone cameras, an accelerometer and a control unit. The user throws the camera into the air and when the accelerometer detects the peak height it triggers all 36 camera modules at once, taking a 360 degree spherical panoramic picture. The camera can them be connected to computer and using a specific programme, the image can be viewed and move freely around the panorama and focus on any aspect of the photo.
Just make sure you catch it after you've thrown it!

Water Jet-pack/Board

Okay, these inventions aren't exactly simple but I felt they needed mentioning because they are by far the best I've come across so far. This invention is an engine powered jet pack which pulls water up through a pipe, which hangs in the water behind the jet-pack, then propels it through the water nozzles and lift the user above the water up to 10 meters depending on weight and size! The only issue is that this is a pretty pricey piece of equipment, the RRP is roughly $130,000(VAT included). For more information on the Water Jet-pack please visit http://www.jetlev-flyer.com/
And to see it in action check out the video here --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=im1iNq02Kz0

The Waterbird

This invention might not look like much from the image but it is a pretty interesting invention. This Waterbird lets you glide across water using a pumping action by bouncing the stand up and down. Sure it may take a bit of energy and work to use but I think its still an excellent invention and it looks pretty fun to use. Check out exactly how it works in the video below.

Exhaust Car Jack

This is a very handy invention which is very simple to use. You simply place the inflatable jack under the side of the car and attach the pipe to the exhaust, which then uses the fumes to inflate it and lift the car. So now instead of having to sit on the floor pumping or winding you can just run your engine,  let it inflate, change your wheel and be on your way.

Double Sided Toothpaste

I find it quite annoying when I  wake up in the morning ready to brush my teeth and find that there is miniscule amount of toothpaste left in the tube. Then I found this invention which I think is very handy in this situation, instead of having to roll up the tube and push and squeeze for half an hour to get a tiniest amount of toothpaste out, this invention, when you're running out at one end, lets you flip it over, remove the other cap and easily squeeze out the last bit of toothpaste in the tube.

Butter Stick

This one is for everyone. When you wake up in the morning and you're already running late for school/work and you're going to have a quick breakfast, so you pop some bread in the toaster but when it come to buttering you find that some ones decided to store the butter in the fridge the night before making impossible to spread. Well worry no more with this great invention... The butter stick. This is easy to spread and there is no need to store it in the fridge.

Sponge Mic

This invention probably won't be interesting to most people but those who love to sing in in the shower will love this one. Now you can scrub clean while your singing and you don't have to use a bottle of shampoo. Here is a sponge made entirely of sponge which I think would be great for those people who think they sound great singing in the shower!

Ever Standing Toothbrush

I'll start off small with a great invention which was designed by Hyun Jin Yoon & Eun Hak Lee. The design let the tooth brush stand upright and never fall over. The weight at the bottom of the round handled tooth brush is what keeps the centre of gravity at the bottom, therefore, keeping the toothbrush standing upright.
